Samsung Bedarra Series 3.5kW Reverse Cycle Split System – The Everyday Room Size

The 3.5kW Bedarra covers the size bracket most Brisbane homes actually need: a large master suite, a study-lounge, a rumpus room, a converted garage or a small living room of roughly 25 to 35 square metres.

When to choose 3.5kW rather than 2.5kW

Step up if the room is over 25m2, has a ceiling higher than 2.7m or a raked ceiling, faces west or north-west, has large glazed areas or sliding doors, or opens into another room. Western afternoon sun is the load most often underestimated when people size their own system, and it is the single most common reason a new unit disappoints its owner.

Living with it

For a room used throughout the day, the Bedarra’s comfort-focused airflow matters – air is distributed broadly rather than aimed straight at whoever is sitting closest. Combined with reverse cycle heating for Brisbane’s short winter, this is a genuine year-round system, and heating with a reverse cycle unit costs a fraction of running a plug-in electric heater.
