LG installation in Brisbane
- Free on-site assessment and heat-load sizing — room area, ceiling height, glazing, insulation and orientation, so the system dehumidifies properly through a humid Brisbane summer instead of short-cycling.
- Wall split installation — Premium, Deluxe and Artcool series, back-to-back or extended pipe runs, wall brackets or ground pads with anti-vibration mounts.
- Multi-split installation — one LG Multi F outdoor unit running 2–5 indoor heads; ideal for townhouses, apartments and homes with tight setbacks.
- Ducted installation and zoning — ceiling-space inverter ducted units, insulated flexible ductwork, motorised zone dampers, controller placement and roof-space access planning.
- Cassettes, ceiling-suspended and floor consoles for offices, shops, clinics and rooms without usable wall space.
- Light commercial and Multi V VRF installations by arrangement.
- Electrical works — dedicated circuit, isolator, switchboard assessment and a compliance certificate at handover.
- Wi-Fi commissioning — LG ThinQ app setup with a full walkthrough before we leave.
- Old unit removal with legal refrigerant recovery.
LG repairs
Faults we see most often
- Not cooling or blowing warm air — refrigerant leak, dirty coil, failed capacitor or compressor
- Water dripping from the indoor unit — blocked condensate drain, dirty barrel fan, iced coil
- Display showing an error code and the unit shutting down
- Outdoor unit not starting — contactor, capacitor, fan motor or inverter PCB
- Rattling, ticking or grinding indoor fan bearing
- Musty mould odour from the coil and blower
- Remote or wired controller unresponsive
- ThinQ Wi-Fi dropping offline or failing to pair
- Control board damage after storms and power surges
- Ducted systems: one zone not cooling, failed zone motor, disconnected duct
Typical LG error codes
Code | Meaning | Typical fix |
CH01 / 01 | Indoor air (room) thermistor fault | Sensor replacement |
CH02 / 02 | Indoor pipe-in sensor fault | Sensor replacement |
CH04 | Drain float switch trip | Clear drain, pump or switch |
CH05 | Indoor–outdoor communication error | Interconnect wiring or PCB |
CH06 | Indoor pipe-out sensor fault | Sensor replacement |
CH09 | Indoor unit EEPROM fault | PCB replacement |
CH10 | Indoor fan motor lock (BLDC) | Fan motor or PCB |
CH21 / CH22 | Inverter compressor overcurrent | Compressor, PCB, blocked condenser |
CH23 | Low DC link voltage | Inverter PCB or supply issue |
CH26 | Compressor position/DC fault | Inverter PCB or compressor |
CH53 | Communication error (outdoor to indoor) | Wiring or PCB |
Codes like CH21 and CH22 mean the compressor is drawing excess current. Turn the unit off at the isolator — repeated trips can permanently damage it.
LG servicing and maintenance
- Filter clean or replacement, plus ionizer/plasma filter inspection where fitted
- Chemical or pressure clean of the indoor coil, barrel fan and casing
- Drain tray flush, drain line clear and antibacterial treatment
- Outdoor condenser coil wash and fin comb — essential on the bayside where salt attacks coils and LG’s Gold Fin coating benefits from cleaning
- Refrigerant pressure, superheat and subcooling checks, plus leak inspection
- Electrical testing — amp draw, capacitors, contactors, terminal tightness
- Airflow and temperature-split verification
- Ducted systems — zone motor operation, duct joints, plenum and insulation inspection
- Written condition report with photos and recommendations
Frequency: every 12 months for splits, every 6 months for ducted, commercial, coastal or pet-household systems.
LG’s 10-year compressor warranty is conditional on the system being properly installed and reasonably maintained. Keep your service records — we provide a written report every visit.

- Controls — wireless remotes, PREMTB wired controllers, ThinQ Wi-Fi, zone controllers and BMS interfaces
LG FAQs
What is the LG Dual Inverter Compressor and does it matter?
It’s a twin-rotary compressor that modulates capacity more smoothly and over a wider range than a single-rotary design. In practice it means faster pull-down on a hot Brisbane afternoon, quieter running at low load and lower power consumption — plus it’s what the 10-year compressor warranty covers.
What warranty comes with an LG air conditioner?
LG residential splits in Australia generally carry a 5-year parts and labour warranty on the system, with a 10-year warranty on the Dual Inverter Compressor, provided the unit is installed by a licensed installer and registered. We register every system we install and give you the documentation.
Is LG as reliable as Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric?
Modern LG inverters are solid performers, and the compressor warranty is the best in the market. Where the Japanese brands still hold an edge is very-low-noise operation and long-term parts availability on older models. For value per kilowatt, LG is very competitive — we’ll give you a straight comparison for your home.
What size LG unit do I need?
Guide only: 2.5 kW for a bedroom to about 20 m², 3.5 kW for 20–30 m², 5.0–6.0 kW for living areas to 45 m², 7.1–8.0 kW for large open-plan. Brisbane humidity, high ceilings and west-facing glass increase the requirement, so we confirm with an on-site calculation.
Can I control my LG from my phone?
Yes — most current models include built-in Wi-Fi for the LG ThinQ app, giving scheduling, remote start, energy monitoring and smart-home integration. Some older models accept a plug-in Wi-Fi module; send us your model number and we’ll confirm.
Why does my LG show CH05 or CH53?
Both are communication errors between the indoor and outdoor units — usually damaged or loose interconnect wiring, water ingress at the terminal block, or a failed PCB. It’s a common post-storm fault in Brisbane and needs a technician to diagnose safely.
Why is my LG leaking water inside?
Almost always a blocked condensate drain — dust, mould and insects clog the line and the tray overflows. Switch the unit off to protect walls and ceilings and book a drain clean.
Do you use genuine LG parts?
Yes — genuine LG PCBs, thermistors, fan motors and capacitors sourced through Australian supply channels so your warranty stays intact.
Which areas do you service?
All of Brisbane plus Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and Moreton Bay — including the CBD, Chermside, Aspley, North Lakes, Carindale, Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank, Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Wynnum.
